Solution
Solution, launched in 1963, was designed by K. Aage Nielsen and built by Paul Luke in East Boothbay, Maine, for Thor Ramsing, an experienced racing skipper who campaigned the boat actively until 1970 when rating rules changes made her uncompetitive.
She is built of double planked mahogany over laminated oak frames and has always been well maintained by a series of owners who actively cruised the boat on the east coast , the Caribbean and in Europe, including two transatlantic passages.
The current owner has had her since 2000. Rating rules have become friendlier to older designs and Solution is actively raced, including several Newport and Marion Bermuda races, a transatlantic race and numerous classic yacht regattas. When she is not racing or in winter storage, she is cruising with family and friends aboard.
